Best Surviving Caruso Resource/Teacher/Disciple

I have been doing some research on Caruso's methods, teachings, and techniques, and went to NYC to meet up with Laurie Frink. It was my goal to arrange a series of lessons and interviews with her in order to compile a document on Caruso techniques and pedagogy.

Now that Laurie is sadly lost to us (she was an amazing woman!), who would you consider the top resource on all matters Caruso in the world?

Is there anyone close to her level of expertise and connection to Caruso?

If so, who are they, and can you help me get in touch with them (PM me if you have sensitive or private information you're willing to share).

Didn't she work in partnership with John McNeil? He might be a good source.

I'm really looking to see if there's anyone with near the level of expertise and knowledge that Laurie had.

I got the impression that John McNeil does not (despite being a fabulous resource for a million other things), although I'd be happy to be corrected!

Any further thoughts?

I'm not personally familiar with everyone on the list that was linked. Of the folks I know, lots of us usually incorporate Carmine's approach with other things we have learned (I think Bob Findlay falls into this category for example, as do I). Even Laurie fell more into this category and often brought in other ideas to blend with Caruso. However, any of us would probably gladly focus specifically on Carmine's teachings if that was your specific quest.

McNeil is a very knowledgeable teacher of Carmine's approach, although he is certainly better known as an improv teacher.

Sam Burtis is great, although he focuses more on low brass. The concepts are the same.

I also know that John Harner and Dave Rogers are teaching based at least in part on the Caruso method.

I'm always available and am considering beginning to teach via skype or facetime.

Thank you! That's very helpful.

So there isn't anyone who stands out as having had a closer connection/more experience/more expertise?

I suppose the most important thing for me is to find someone who is capable of expressing concepts as clearly as possible, and really understands the core of Caruso's teaching (which may not necessarily be the best player or the best teacher).

Any other opinions?

For those in New York City and the surrounding areas, Dominic Derasse (www.dominicderasse.com), is an absolutely fantastic teacher who teaches the Caruso method. He is an excellent musician and master trumpet player.

He told me that when he was studying in Boston, he would commute down for lessons with Carmine...twice a week for a year!

Is there anything in particular which makes makes Mr. Charles or Mr. Derasse stand out from other Caruso teachers?

Jon Crowley studied with Laurie Frink, and seems to be interested in keeping her methods and concepts alive. He has interviewed other former students of Laurie, to get an broader understanding of what techniques she applied for different students' challenges.

Weird.

I have WEbroot and Norton products at home, will have to try there.

We have several layers of AV protection and gobs of websites blocked at work and I was able to get to it fine.

Maybe there was a problem with the site in the past?
