Hi, sorry, did not mention that the reply I got was from Thierry Doublon at Selmer.fr.

That's a surprise, since I get my info from him. Could just be a slip-up in the bookkeeping back then. I still stand by my date, however, 1939 - early '40s. An easy way to check is by looking at the stamp on the bell, and if it mentions "Barcelona" it's pre-WWII.

Cheers,
Chris

Hi, Chris:

Yep, it has Barcelona on the bell. Thanks!

The Universal Exhibition of Barcelona took place in 1929 and 1930.
In the years that followed, Selmer proudly mentioned their participation and the reward received there, as it was usual at that time.

There is a trumpet only list at horn-u-copia.net

Unfortunately, even that list is wanting. Selmer made a lot of horns in the 50s but it is hard to find out much about them...my own 1952 Selmer Paris includded.

I can't add any concrete info on dates, but I will add that I own a K-mod cornet, serial #1907, that I was told was from the mid 1950s. If nothing else it's another horn you can add to your list that is still out there!!
