I am here to alert you that a Mister Tim Schultheiss is possibly trying to scam people. He listed a horn for sale on eBay at ~$14,000. It was a Conn 12B that apparently was played by a famous trumpeter, fell out of a plane and was then picked up by clammers on the shores of NJ (so the description claimed.) Anyway, I offered him $25 for the trumpet, which he ACCEPTED. However, minutes later, he relisted the exact same trumpet for the exact same absurd price. There is a long discussion that has been going on over at trumpetmaster.com, so I will leave it at that. However, Mr. Schultheiss goes by user "godsong" (eBay user is "doitallman" or "thedoitallman") and only posts to sell items or comment on items being sold. Godsong sent me this PM. I am only posting here to warn others about his atrocious behavior. Buyers be ware!

Godsong:Only a real mental midget would offer 25$ for a 14K horn. You should have laughed or asked but you played. Know its time you learned a lesson player.

I can only imagine how many times you have been "scammed" by offering to pay someone $50 for a trumpet.

With the seller paying the shipping, that's a solid price on a 12B. Maybe $450 even. After it falls out of a plane at cruising altitude of 20,000 feet + and gets picked up by the clammers? HAHAHAHAHA Only a mental midget would try to sell it.

Gotta love a good description... Here's what the ad said:

"This trumpet was played by Harry James and was a first line horn in the Magnito Jazz band in France. The trumpet was slated to be displayed in the Music Hall of Fame but was bought by a Russian investor. During the transition it fell out of a plane and picked up by a clammer in the Raritan Bay who sold it to me. During my search to find the owner I was contacted by Zig Kanstul who told me the trumpet was a custom proto-type made for the great Blazene Embouchure that played with Dizzy, Faddis and Marcellus in the All Star Brass Ensemble. This horn is ready to play and has been meticulously looked at by throngs of people that would like a 12B. There is no international sale available. If you are in want of a classic historical Conn 12B then make an offer. Stupid offers get you blocked and put on the National Do Not Sell To list. Now laugh because you can't buy this! You had a chance but the magic carpet has been pulled out from under your feet."

I'm just glad the magic carpet was pulled prior to my seeing it. After all, who wouldn't want to pay $14,850 for a horn picked out of a bay?

And, oh my, the horror of being put on the "National Do Not Sell To List". Wow... I'm shaking in my boots. Very strange; 315 transactions, he shows 100% approval rating and he writes the above stuff? Hm.

Read the posts on the other site. The auction was an inside joke between the seller and someone who kept trying to buy said trumpet. Perhaps ill advised.

The OP decided to make a $25 dollar BIN and then got played with.

In my opinion, neither the seller nor the OP look very good in this.
