I said when I received my Edwards X13 back from the factory I would update those interested. First let me say the horn plays amazingly! I want to thank Brett Getzen , Lexi, Christian, the factory manager and all those in the factory that disassembled my horn and but it back together again. They did an amazing job. It looks amazing and plays amazing. As for what was wrong specifically I'll let Brett address it if he wants. I know they took it apart checked tolerances, and made a new main slide for it. It plays like a new X13. If you want to know about the Getzen Edwards company look no further than how Brett Getzen treated his customer me thru this whole thing, with respect and incredible service. I'm a customer for life. The X13 is the best horn on the market flat out imho. And there service is even better. Truly a family company.

I am very pleased to hear things have worked out for you. I play in a band with bass trombonist with a recent (1-2 year old) Edwards 'bone and he raves about the horn all the time. Besides, the horn speaks for itself.

Update your post again after a few months and let us know how it's going after the 'new car smell' wears off.

Oh, I feel so bad. I just got a Bach 190-37 Centennial trumpet. Boy, did I miss the boat.

I owned an X-13 in lacquer and foolishly sold it.

There was only one thing to do. I had a new one built in a silver finish, and my new X-13 plays every bit as well as the one I sold.

As an all around trumpet, it is very hard to beat the X-13!

I'm glad that the issue has been addressed. Enjoy your new horn! It is one of the very best on the market IMO.

While I appreciate the shout out, I don't deserve any of the credit on this. I intentionally stayed out of this one other than checking on the status of your horn as it moved along. As a boss, it is much more satisfying to see your crew doing things right when you aren't looking than when you are standing over their shoulder.

As for what was wrong, there wasn't anyone one, glaring issue. There was more of an accumulation of small issues that compounded upon each other. Unfortunately, this should have been caught prior to leaving the factory. Luckily this was a good learning experience to tighten up the percentages I mentioned before.

I'm glad to hear that we got it right and I appreciate the second chance... even if I hate needing it.
