What does everyone use to transport mutes when they will not fit in your case?

I use a small document case. Bit like a computer bag but a lot thicker. Holds music, trumpet stand, music stand, iPad Pro, stand light and mute holders. Plus all the other stuff, oil, glasses etc. I use a Torpedo bag for my trumpet, so,no space for mutes.

I carry a lot of mutes so I use a plumber's tool bag I bought at Home Depot. Holds mutes plus oil, tuner, stand light and opens wide so I can find stuff easily. They're cheap.

I have used one of the small protec mute bags. I've always been able fit my mutes needed for a rehearsal or performance. Others will sometimes transport them individually in those blue Crown Royal bags.

When I bought the Torpedo, it came with a mutebag. And immediately I realised that I had a problem when I need mutes. Because the torpedo itself is the most protective case I ever had, but this nylon mutebag is almost a joke. Doesn't protect anything.
However: I never travel by public transport and in my car I can put it pretty solid.
Then the only thing is, that I have to be careful that I don't slam the mutebag against doors, chairs, humans, ect...

I also use the small Protec bag. It won't hold your entire arsenal of mutes, but neither will an SUV smaller than a Ford Excursion

. For normal performing once one has decided which mute to use it should be adequate.

I use the protec trombone mute bag. It holds a lot, but protection for the mutes is lacking.

I also use a soft-sided tool bag. It has a metal frame around the top that stays wide open when in use. It's fairly bullet-proof, and holds extra stuff like water bottles, stand light, lunch, etc.

Save yourself a ton of money. go to home depot ask for the tool bags. See the amazing assortment in all shapes and sizes, for 1/4 the price of a so-called mutebags, and most at a much higher quality level.

Backpack with four compartments. Big Mutes go in the rear compartment along with music folder. all are in Crown Royal bags except my Soul-o mute which resides in a short plastic Folgers Coffee Can. - most other mutes in the middle compartment, again in Crown Royal bags. Towel, music glasses, valve oil, slide grease, etc. in the small front pocket. Bag also has water bottle pouches on each side

Following some recommendations on TH, I went to Home Depot and bought a tool bag. I also throw in all the other stuff: trumpet stands, mute rack, etc. Works great, and not too expensive.

I'm also using a Home Depot Husky bag. Lots of room and has side pouches for pencils, oil, mouthpieces, etc.
