As an mechanical engineer who specializes in manufacturing, I'm in agreement with Mr. Haysom.
Sure there are stresses imparted upon an instrument... that goes without saying. The question here is, How will crogenics benefit your particular horn? and the only answer I can come up with is... no one can possibly know. To say that the process will show benefits on every horn is simply ridiculous. Cryo treat is not going to make up for poor manufacturing and there is no guarantee that it will make a good instrument play any better, although I don't doubt that the psychological effect would make one think otherwise for a little while.
Just my opinion though.
