Looks like Chris Martin is going to be joining the NY Phil. Unless this image is photoshopped, but it looks legit. Was there an audition?

Yeah, sorry, I knew there was an audition, but didn't realize he was an auto advanced finalist.

Yes, but the date on that NY Philharmonic notice is March 18, 2016. This is new information! Very interesting!

The recruiting practices of the NYPhil remind me of my favorite baseball team.

There were a series of invite only "auditions" throughout this season, and he was one of the few to advance through some of the rounds (and for good reason too)

The question remains: will he make the move?

I'm confused, based on the date of the op's picture, it seems he is indeed making the move?

Or is this potentially photoshop? A strange thing to want to photoshop I think:)

Well it says he has been offered the position, and they are hoping he can start in September. It does not actually say that he as accepted it.

Now that this info (if legit) seems to be out there, it would be great if one of the NY Phil players who sometimes use this forum could confirm if this is accurate.

If you look closely at the picture you can see the reflection of male hands taking the picture. Makes me think the picture is the real deal.

Good eyes! And the person is wearing a tux. So the paper is posted on a bulletin board that is in an glass enclosed case.

Male in a tuxedo... must have been around a performance... Is that a wedding ring on his finger? We'll narrow this down soon enough...

Wearing cufflinks, not buttons. Appears to be an Android phone. There is also another notice next to this one in the case as well with CSO letterhead which lends credibility.

This thread is a perfect microcosm of the TH rathole syndrome.

Ok, ladies, control yourselves. Let's focus on the speculation and rumors.
