Me too. I read that Roger brought them to the Warburton booth at the Midwest Clinic last week. Maybe someone can report? I also read that they might be ready for product launch sometime around February 2017.

Most of those posts seem to be about Roger's restoration services for vintage mutes. Buy a beat up old vintage mute, send it to Roger, and he would restore it correctly to make it as good as or better than new.
His Mute Meister Mutes are brand new mutes that will be manufactured to his design specifications. It's some kind of partnership arrangement with Warburton. Anyway, we won't have to watch eBay, pawn shops and estate sales to find old mutes and then get them restored--we can just order a brand new one. Sweet! _________________ Bb Yamaha Xeno 8335IIS

There were some favorable comments on his Facebook page. Instead of fiber, the mutes are made from a plastic material, which Roger says is better because it is not riveted.
Since I have the restored Robinson mutes, I'm not sure I'm buying soon but if he makes a Harmon-style mute, that might interest me.

Has anyone taken delivery of the new mutes or see them at NAMM? I'm very interested...
Thanks!

Hi Ben. In the Facebook thread, Kim Aubuchon wrote that Warburton would not be at NAMM. The same thread also indicated that preorders might ship in February. The Mute Meister website now says they'll ship on or before March 15. Looking forward to it! _________________ Bb Yamaha Xeno 8335IIS

I played them both recently at FMEA (Florida Music Educators).
They come as close as can be to the iconic Shastock Solotone and the Ray Robinson cup. I'll be ordering once they are in production. |

Howdy, just checking in to see if anyone has any more intelligence on these mutes. I specifically want to know their weight - they're not too heavy, are they? I saw the wood bottom and got a little discouraged.
I'm looking to update my cup mute sound so I want to try one of these mutes but I don't want a heavy one - I prefer light mutes.
Thanks! _________________ Yamaha 8310Z trumpet

Roger gave me a lesson just before New Years and I got to play the mutes and compare both to the restored vintage originals. Both felt lighter than the originals. I chalk this up to the 3D printing technology used. As to the wood; it is a thin piece of maple that helps with the warm sound.
You will need o file the corks to get the best fit and intonation. |

Thanks! I use my cup mute so much and am looking for a slightly warmer sound than I'm getting with my Soulo so I think I'll just pull the trigger and pre-order one. Cheers. _________________ Yamaha 8310Z trumpet

Very cool!! Let us know how it plays. I've been looking to replace some of my vintage mutes that are falling apart. Maybe this might be the way to go for a new cup mute |

We've been using the solotone in our quintet for a few months and have loved it. They're quite easy to play and put out a lot of the right sound. I'll be ordering a cup soon and will report on how it compares to the new old stock Robinson cup I'm used to using. _________________ Charles Russell Roberts

I weighed three of my cup mutes:
MuteMeister, 96 g
Humes & Berg Stone Lined, 92 g
Denis Wick Adjustable, 129 g. _________________ Bb Yamaha Xeno 8335IIS

Wow! A modern top quality SoloTone (now called ShowTone) mute! Coming from Roger I know the intonation and sound are going to be great. I'll be adding one to my arsenal.
Cheers,
