How would the owner maintain the finish on such a beautiful instrument?

That one is brushed gold, so you just have to wipe it down.

Brushed raw brass will patina over time

Renaissance wax might do the trick

You can wipe the horn down after you play it, or use a wax coating.
In general, though, if you don't want the brass to patina, you're better off getting it lacquered or plated.
