Your technic is ok.
But you are not "Swinging" and for me there is too less "emotion" in your playing.

I hope you see that as a positive criticism... I don´t want to offend you.

Great job!

When you post yourself on line, you get compared to trumpet greats like Miles Davis, Wynton Marsalis, Arturo Sandoval and Maynard Ferguson. Very few people in history can stand up to that kind of comparison.

However, compared to mere mortals like me, you sound very good indeed. I like the sound of your playing. I also liked your scoops. I just recently began listening to jazz and I've started to work on that technique, but you are farther along than I am.

Besides your playing, to post this in English and do such a good job on creating the video is very impressive.

And just because this site has a lot of trumpet geeks, it would be nice if you posted what kind of trumpet and mouthpiece you are using - we always ask.

Congratulations. Keep up the good work.

Warm Regards,
Grits

Kudos on producing a nice video. Well done.

Regarding your playing, you have a pleasing tone and appropriate technique. So you're on the right track.

But as to playing jazz, in particular Mile Davis, there's a distinct lack of Miles' swing, tone and phrasing. This is not meant to be harsh, it does take nerve to post your playing on the internet, but you need to continue listening to recordings, loosen up and maybe (don't know your exact situation) to play and learn, from other more advanced players. Playing with other, better, players is crucial. Remember always, that first an foremost, jazz is a aural art.

Great work. It's only a never-ending pursuit, hah, hah.

(By the way, but I personally consider those scoops as old-fashioned and cliché - I personally wouldn't use them, but of course that's personal.)

Thanks for your comments! It is very important for me. Especially criticism.
I do not compare myself with the great trumpeters who are replaying. I just want to convey their music not only for jazz musicians but also for ordinary people. And also I decided to upload my videos in the hope of getting useful jazz lessons from trumpeters from around the world.
