You might need to add a few more details on what you mean by an overhaul.

For instance the instrument might have only a few minor issues.
Or it might have shot valves requiring replating and fitting.
Or damaged/missing finish.
Or missing parts like a valve or a slide.
Or minor /major redrot.

Giving a ballpark figure is difficult due to the ambiguity of what “an overhaul” entails.

Someone could tell you what they spent and what was done, but just a ballpark number, imho, isn’t very helpful.

Excellent points. Thanks for responding!

This horn has a couple of very small dents. I can't get the slides out except for one. Looks like the silver plating has a couple of wear spots. I'll report back later!

I don’t believe the first two would be a challenge for a good tech. They shouldn’t be too expensive either.

Fixing worn silver plating that is more involved. I played my strad for years with worn and pitted plating before paying someone to prep and have it replated. It was not cheap.

It depends on what you need to have done. On the "performance" side, the most expensive things to be done are valve replating, and parts replacement (particularly if that requires fabrication). So, f you are talking about having some dents removed and a crease taken out of the bell, that's not too expensive. A horn that needs a full valve overhaul, a new leadpipe and tuning slide would be well over $1,000.

On the "cosmetic" side, preparing and then replating or relacquering a horn is expensive. Spot work less so. A full silver replate, including minor dent removal, would probably be at least $800.

This is the correct ballpark...I just sent him one of my
horns and his estimate was a little less for lacquer-
valves will be extra if they need work.

Silver plated Vocabell trumpets were generally satin finish, or at least every one I’ve seen was that way. Small parts aren’t a problem as they did a bright finish, but replating the body could be problematic. Anderson SP no longer offers bead blast finishes.

Write him at charliesbrass@sbcglobal.net and tell him what you need, he will let you know. His prices are reasonable.
