Does anyone have any experience with the Stork Studio Master Series mouthpieces? I'm interested in trying some but I can't decide which lengths would work best for me. I have used short shanks for a long time and haven't had any luck with "conventional" mouthpieces. These seem like the best of both worlds but I don't know how do determine the ideal length...
Any ideas? _________________ Kevin |

The one that worked best for me was the XM6, but I tried a few of the shallower models in the 6 size also. I didn't really factor in the length of the piece when deciding what to play, I went with cup depth and knowing that the very shallow models would be very bright. FWIW, I don't have any of the Studio Master models any more, but I stuck with the XM6 for several years because it worked well for section playing/occasional lead playing in a big band. _________________ Richard Hastings

Stork was suggested to me by someone on the TH when I asked for some advice on the usefulness of V cups; hence I ordered a bunch of them from Thomann.de eventually buying two, The VMS6 and the VM6.
I have used the VM6 roughly 1 year, for lead, finding it a very good mpc. Big warm sound, sizzling up high - but not too piercing. The rims feel very nice to my lips. So I can definitevely recommend trying them (but do as I did, chose between several) My only complaint is the diameter, 16,25. 16,50 or even 17,0 should have been even better. Personal this is.
Also nice workmanship. _________________ Cornets: mp 143D3/ DW Ultra 1,5 C

The VMS and XMS models were exactly what I was looking for relative to cup depth and shape.
While I don't play on them anymore, I used those two extensively for years- excellent pieces! |
