Just saw this post for the first time yesterday. I'm sure it has been discussed here but I would love to resurrect it again.

SPECTACULAR and congratulations to Mike Sachs who drove the project. To the 2 people that gave the video a thumbs down, you have no idea what you are talking about and no clue about what it takes to even make something like this happen. There is a reason it took 48 years to be done again...if it was easy, everyone would be doing it.

We need more visionaries like Mike Sachs who think outside the lines and just get these things done...bravo!

Indeed. As someone that arranges logistics for events at my job, I can't even imagine the lift of not only coordinating all of the technical/recording/location logistics, but the scheduling of so many busy, in demand musicians.

Also, I dream of how amazing it would be to just sit in a chair right in the middle of the arc of the full ensemble. I think if I went deaf from it that wouldn't be the worst thing to have as the last thing I heard...

Yes, many thanks to Mr. Sachs for driving this project and finding generous sponsors willing to write some checks. I flew up to Chicago for their concert on Sep 20, 2015. What a great concert! Kind of like going to an all-star game, except they have those every year, and I felt like this might be a once in a lifetime thing. It was marvelous.

Awesome recording and great promo video.
Very inspiring (just like the recording from the 60's)
A must see (and listen) for all brass players - BRAVO to all involved!!

If we're talking about awesome Orchestral brass ensembles we can't forget the Canadian one! Much of the same thing occured in canada; all of the greatest orchestral musicians came together two years ago to form the Canadian National Brass Project and did a concert tour, recorded a CD last summer and did another amazing tour this past summer. It's such a coincidence that both these amazing ensembles came about around the same time, and it just proves the amazing state that brass playing is in I think.
Here's the link to the CNBP website:http://www.canadiannationalbrassproject.com
Their CD is for sale there, and just like the Gabrieli CD, it's well worth the purchase.
