Can someone give a short application of how Alexander technique can be incorporated into my everyday playing?

Some years back a trumpeter named Matt Shulman marketed a device called the Shulman System. It was a device that held the horn for you and encouraged the body to play relaxed. I purchased one and used it a lot. I believe it was based on Matt's experience with the Alexander Technique. Matt changed his name in 2009 to Matt Von Roderick.

If you Google ‘Ethan Kind’ he has a book on the Alexander Technique which is adapted for musicians including trumpet players. It isn’t a short book so may not be what you want!

Judith Saxton is a trumpet player who is certified in this. She talked about it some at ITG this year. I think she used to be the trumpet instructor at UNC. Her website is http://judithsaxton.com/
