Hello all,

This may sound treasonous - does anyone know of a percussion forum similar to trumpetherald? Or perhaps another medium to get attention from percussionists? I am looking for a percussion instructor for an overseas gig and I have exhausted my contacts. Hopefully the internet may have an answer!

I'd say that the forum at Drummer World is probably the biggest of the drumming/percussion forums.

I used to frequent Pearl Drummers Forum a lot, but somewhere along the line it changed - it used to have so much traffic that I couldn't keep up, and now it's so slow, there just doesn't seem to be much going on anymore.

I'm not sure if you are looking for stuff on percussion in general, or kit drumming - most of what you'll find on those other forums is kit drumming.

Just do a search on Google for drummers forums - there are a number of them out there.

Drummer World
Pearl Drummers Forum
Drumforum.org
ghostnote.net - this is a forum for people who like to make their own drums

I never thought of looking for such a forum I play djembe fairly well. I've performed publicly on djembe quite a bit over the last few years.

Thank you for the helpful tips. Unfortunately it seemed a waste of time to join percussion-centric forums - most were dead and I was banned from one. Facebook came to the rescue and helped secure the position!

I heard there was a Drummers Forum, but it closed down as none of them knew when to come in.
