Rafael Mendez Brass Institute
This is an annual event, now in its 33rd year. It will be held next July 8 - 14 at the University of Denver. Faculty include members of the Summit Brass and Denver Brass:
Trumpets: Ronald Romm, John Marchiando, Joe Burgstaller, David Hickman, Al Hood
Horns: Tom bacon, Allene Hackleman, Denise Tryon, JD Shaw, Susan McCullough
Trombones: Larry Zalkind, Carl Lenthe, Scott Hartman, Scott Bean, Joseph Martin
Bass Trombone: john Lofton
Euphonium: Brian Bowman
Tubas: Dan Perantoni, Tim Northcut, Kathy Brantigan
Conductor: Joseph Parisi
The Mendez family provides large tuition scholarships to all participants, and the housing and performance facilities are fantastic. Everyone performs in chamber groups, and there are daily master classes and career seminars. Private lessons are also available. You can find more information here:
