It has been 3 years or so since I have touched a horn. I was getting back into it back in 2013 and 2014 and was playing on a 1.5b. Before that it had been many years. Probably a decade since I had touched a horn .I was playing for therapy for myself and nothing more but was pretty comfortable on my 1.5b. Here it is and I might have the opportunity to get another student horn donated till I can save up to get a better horn. Living in a veterans quarters due to separation with wife in 2015 and my injuries from the military causing more problems now. It will take me quite some time to save up for a decent horn again like the silver sonic symphony I had or something else like a silver flair or a Bach, but at least it is a start if the person comes through. They teach a History of Jazz class here tonight and teacher is a cornet player. He found out I played and was interested in helping if he could.
So what say you. Should I go back to a 1.5b or maybe a 3b. I love the dark sound the b cups always gave me and that's usually why I stuck with them in the past. I know the 3c and 5b I had did not suite me. The 5c felt too small. Thanks. for the advice again and feels good to be back chatting. |

Seems like you've answered your own question. You liked the 1.5b and used it; no reason to change now IMO. _________________ "After silence, that which best expresses the inexpressible, is music" - Aldous Huxley |

He's saying, go spend $56 and try it out. Your case even has a spot where you can store it.
Instead, you ask a bunch of over-opinionated strangers to tell you what to do. |

Well dont have a horn currently and the mouthpiece is 100.00 for the Bach. In the preparation stage for the comeback. Thats why I was getting opinions. |
