To give you an idea of exactly how much material you have, I have been working out of Claude Gordon's Systematic Approach to Daily Practice for about a year or so. I am now on lesson 9. A major portion of that curriculum is made up of Clarke's Technical Studies. I am now on lesson 7 of the Technical Studies (the corresponding lesson to SATDP lesson 9). I have been on lesson 7 for several weeks and I am just now beginning to have some success in playing it. I suppose it will take at least several more weeks to be able to play it at the prescribed tempo of 116 BPM - and a lot longer to play it musically.

In other words, you can easily spend a year just on Clarke's Technical Studies and still not master it.

As for the Arban book? Oh, well, about a lifetime I suppose - if you start when you are young.

The moral of the story is, enjoy the journey.

Warm regards,
Grits

Definitely a good start! I started working on Schlossberg as a fourth grader, and Arban and Clarke as a six grader. Many years later, they are still part of my daily practice.
