Am I the only one with 3 lost USPS packages that never had a scan ever updated in tracking????
How do they lose a big package containing my Martin trumpet?
They also lost my packages containing mutes and mouthpieces, unbelievable! And worst part is, there's nothing I can do to get those items back, I'm in no rush to get refunded, I just want the items!!! |

You might have better luck contacting them directly. Just sayin' _________________ "Music is like candy, you throw the (w)rappers away." |

Good luck. USPS is the WORST when it comes to tracking, their system is worthless. And trying to contact them directly is not much better, don’t even think of trying to do that by phone. Government bureaucracy at it’s finest .
On a positive note, I have had shipments that I eventually received after their tracking system showed no records of them even having the package, I hope this is what happens for you.

Well, I had no problem talking to the area supervisor (several times). Might be a local thing. At any rate, I would at least give it a try. _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird

By any chance did they go through Jersey City? Apparently one of the worst post offices in the US and often referred to as a black hole due to the tendency of things to go in but not come out. I'm sure there are many similar. If you look at the Google maps review, the one on MLK Jr. in Jersey City has a 1.2 star rating. Others in the area have a similar rating.
I had a bike saddle get lost in one of the Jersey City po's for a month. Tracking showed it went in...some time later showed it leaving...and then going back...?? My local post office put a trace on it, but couldn't tell me much of anything.
I happened to go to a Fedex hub in the Orlando, FL area and that was eye opening. There's a hut there that floor employees are required to go through - cameras, metal detectors and a guy with a detector wand employees have to go past. Clearly a measure taken because packages tend to disappear. I assume they've got cameras all over the place as well. _________________ Getzen Eterna Severinsen

Not to hijack the thread, but one more USPS story: I had sent my most expensive horn out for repair (Fedex). When it was shipped back USPS, even though it was insured with signature required, the idiot carrier just set it on the stairs to my front porch, at 8pm, and left. No signature, did not even bother to ring the doorbell. I just happened to see this out my front window, otherwise it may have sat out there really exposed all night (although I most likely would have checked before going to bed).
In my area, the USPS is worse than incompetent, many of their employees (like the one who delivered my horn) are apparently quite lazy and could not care less about doing a decent job as well.

Can't promise it'll help but with some companies it seems that making a public stink (finally, something Facebook is good for!) about a problem can magically make someone keen to chase it up for you.
Doesn't always work, but it's the sort of thing that is worth a go. |
