I only saw one pic, which just looked like a triple case with the slot boards removed. Maybe I missed something, because I didn't see a 'before' and 'after' comparison.

Edit: Went back and reloaded the image, and saw two one above and another below.

Ok I致e had a few questions so I値l try and answer them and post a couple finished pics.
I started with a J winter triple hard case and removed the inserts. I had an old single case that I took the styrofoam insert from and cut accordingly. I picked up fabric from local shop (hobby lobby) covered the styrofoam insert and glued in place. I used the old inserts to form the storage area. So if you can use your imagination the upturned bell will rest in the upper right corner. And I have to smaller pieces that will block the bell.

I've never seen a case in which the trumpet is upside down like that.

I知 not sure I understand? Are you referring to the bell side being down?

I think these words, "use your imagination," certainly has to also be applied to figuring out how to make a custom case like this from the start. Kudos to you, AwesomeDad! I think it's clear that your upturned-bell trumpet will rest on its left side with the bell end toward the upper right corner of the case...all makes sense. It's imperative that a horn not rest on its 2nd valve slide, right?!

I had mentioned in another post entitled "Hard Cases" this past week that a band director friend gave me three used cases: one for a single trumpet, one for a detachable bell horn, and one for a trombone (large shipping or airflight-type) case. I have gutted them and am awaiting some fabric and glue on order from Amazon that might arrive today. I already had some foam, but it's 4 inches thick, so I'm having to cut it, which is time-consuming. I'll post an update as well if and when I finish these projects. What I really want to do is design options for these cases, so that I can switch out instruments, like:

Trumpet case: single Bb or C, or maybe Eb and picc, or maybe G and Bb picc, or the like.

Horn case: Quad tpt case with extra compartment for storage and with a Pelican lid organizer already on order.

Trombone case: several horns, or maybe show up for a Baroque gig with just one piccolo inside! Ha! But it has to be a gig where trombone players are present, so it will be truly appreciated!

As Patrick Starfish would say, "Use your imagination, SpongeBob!"

No, the valve buttons pointing down when the case is closed and sitting with the handle up. Trumpets typically lay with the bottom caps pointing toward the hinged side. There are exceptions of course.

So to clarify, when the case is open with horn on display, it will rest on its left side. The upturned bell will be pointing to the upper right corner (hinge side). (This will keep the pressure off of the 2nd slide.) Correct?

That is correct.

I see what your saying, honestly I didn稚 realize that but after looking at king, carol brass and other upturned bell models in their case they are also oriented this way. I just used what gave me the most space and wiggle room for the bell bend.

It was a J winter triple case I believe the model was a 776.
