Hello everyone,

I'm currently doing research on electronic chamber music with trumpet parts, and I'm looking for more. Hopefully this is where the great people of trumpetherald can help.

The trumpet doesn't need to be prominent in the piece. Also, I'm looking for piece specifically written for trumpet (flugelhorn, piccolo trumpet, cornet, ect...) I've been doing research, but it seems many of the pieces I'm finding have not been published and most are written in the past 5-10 years.

Thanks,
Isaac

Here are 5 great pieces. You can click through on each for write ups and info.

Oh, there must be a typo in your original post, it says

"Also, I'm looking for piece specifically written for trumpet (flugelhorn, piccolo trumpet, cornet, ect...)"

I agree that there remains some ambiguity. Aside from the inclusion of a written trumpet part that's not solo, nor necessarily prominent...
By electronics do you mean synthesizers alone, or does it include other electronic instruments like guitar?
Are there other non-electronic voices?
Can you provide examples of such pieces to clarify, even if the pieces aren't published?

Sorry for the confusion.

Electronic music is a vague topic. I'm looking for some sort of music that involves a computer program or electronics like microphones. The works the Quinlan posted are great, but I'm looking for chamber music. So, multiple instrumentalist (that include trumpet) with electronics.

Electronics could be: synths., tape, cd, tape-loop, live electronics, amplified sound, and ect...

I understand their are not many pieces written for this medium that are published, but I'm looking to see if anyone here has seen or preformed anything.

I believe I actually emailed this to Issac at one point, but these are some works that involve trumpet in a chamber setting + electronics:

Ben Hackbarth: Lines of Communication
Roger Reynolds: ...the serpent-snapping eye...
Christopher Biggs: A Letter to the Moon
Jeff Herriott: a glance at the sun
Keith Kirchoff: Irrational Rationalities
Igor C. Silva: zap_ping_
Paul Dolden: Rave #1
Richard Johnson: Anno D
Christopher Biggs: Decade Zero
James Mobberley: Icarus Wept (tpt+organ version)

Oh and some other works I've premiered recently:

Brian Sears: "To Flame" (trumpet, percussion, electronics)
Brian Belet: "Loose Canon" (trumpet, piano, percussion, electronics)

There is also an interesting work by Mu-Xuan Lin called "Phantom Museum" (Piano, Trumpet, Electronics) I believe. It has a mostly graphic score.
