Graduate Assistantship in Trumpet
University of South Carolina School of Music

Position: The University of South Carolina School of Music announces a graduate assistantship position in trumpet for 2019-2020. The duties may include performing with the faculty brass quintet, teaching applied lessons for selected majors and/or non-majors, coaching chamber music, teaching a secondary instrument methods class, and/or other duties determined by the needs of the School of Music and trumpet studio.

Stipend: This is a renewable assistantship (not more than 18 hours per week) paying a stipend of up to $6300 per year (depending on degree) and supplements that may boost the total up to $25,000 per year and would cover a full graduate workload. The opportunity for extra income exists through private teaching and performing professionally throughout the states of South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia. An extra supplement ($1500) may be awarded if the student chooses to perform with the USC Wind Ensemble, increasing the base stipend to $7800 per year.

Programs: The USC School of Music offers a full array of degrees through the doctorate with majors in Performance, Composition, Conducting, Jazz Studies, Music Education, Music History, Opera Theater, Music Entrepreneurship, and Piano Pedagogy.
