Hey forum! I'm a lead trumpet player in my school's jazz band. I was wondering about mouthpiece boosters, and if they are actually beneficial. If they are beneficial, what is a good model to get? Thank you so much! _________________ Getzen 700s Eterna

Have you checked out the dedicated mouthpiece forum to see if it has been discussed there? |

Beneficial as far as what? What are you looking to accomplish with it?

Don't mess with it. At your stage of the game you might not even notice a difference. It mostly changes how you perceive your sound - it's not going to give you any range or endurance or anything of that sort.
Some people use them and like them, but the vast majority of trumpet players I know don't mess with them. _________________ Patrick Gleason

As above - although you will hate to hear it, you are in far more need of a good teacher, good practice habits and positive mindset (which you seem to have).
All the gadgets, fads, tricks etc. provide one poofteenth* of a percent advantage. Even if you try them all, a few poofteenths is nothing compared to a few weeks of solid practice, or high quality guidance from a good teacher...
cheers
Andy
