It will work. I use those kits on many brands of flugel. I recently did an old Holton and have a Quesnon ready to go. If the replacement slide in the kit doesn't work with the old 631, you can do as I do for non-Yamaha flugels and remove the screw nub from the new slide (lots of heat it is silver-soldered) and solder it to the old slide. The hardest part is getting the slide aligned properly so that it works smoothly with the trigger. Plus you may have to lap the tubes with a mild abraisive compound. |

There is essentially no difference between the old 631, 731 (my horn) and the current 631G, except plating (silver on the 731) and bell material - red brass (631), yellow brass (731), and gold brass (631G). That's what the "G" stands for. _________________ LA Benge 3X Bb Trumpet

Hi
I put the 1st and 3rd trigger mechanisms from a Besson Sovereign on one of these Yams once and they worked a treat.
Got the parts from Windcraft in the UK a number of years ago.
If you could source the parts they work.
All the best
