On a trumpet with a 2 piece bell and bell tube, how were the 2 pieces of brass connected? This is on an Olds special from 1952, just in case other Mfg's used a different process.

The flare is notched, the tube is fitted to the notches, and the two pieces are brazed together.

I've seen the definitions of the term "bogart" and I fail to see how it applies to this situation?

I guess I travel in the wrong circles.

I don't think I have ever used or heard the term used, but I did get to the accepted meaning if not the origin.

I am 67. I saw Easy Rider in the theater when it first cane out. Saw it again the next day. Used “Don’t Bogart that joint” immediately.

When I started teaching in 1970 one of my students asked me if he could make a roach clip. I had no idea what he was talking about and I gave him the OK, if I had known what he meant I would have said no. Where I grew up we knew about marijuana but white lightning was much more prevalent, I didn't do either, then, and still don't do marijuana.
