Remote Control for Zoom Q8

I just received an email from a Zoom factory rep who says the company doesn't offer a remote switch for its Q8 video camera which, otherwise, is a terrific tool for capturing high quality video and sound of a musical performance.

Anyone know of a third party source or some kind of workaround? I really would like to record our band's rehearsals and gigs without having to leave my spot in the band to turn the camera on and off.

Just leaving it on all the time poses battery issues and forces a lot of editing.
