I would like to know the difference between the Giardinelli 5M (which I currently play) and their 5C. I am looking for a deeper mouthpiece in the same diameter as the 5M. Is the 5C deeper (more volume)?? I really like the rim on my 5M, but would like a deeper cup which would offer a softer tone. Thanks for any info. _________________ Bach "Big Apple" M37 Strad trumpet

I would think that the 5C Giardinelli would be a bit deeper. I have had the 7M and 7C as well as the 10M and 10C and the C cups definitely have more volume. Now, for you, the problem would be trying to find one.

Should be no problem finding a modern Giardinelli, don't they still make them? |
