Hello. I'm beginning to strongly believe that air just started leaking ONLY when i play low D's. This is a major milestone as I have a Performance in two days. Are there any ways to find out why/where the leak is, and if the leak occurs in only ONE valve, if it can be replaced.

thank you

Wait, is the air leaking out of your mouth, or out of your horn?

Just try doing the chromatic scale, from C below the staff on down, and see which notes give you trouble. You do have to use *some* pressure to make an air-seal around the MP you know.

Why do you think the horn leaks? What problems are you experiencing?

If your trumpet has a third-slide lever-style spit valve, check the cork.

I can go play d’s without an uncontrollable hiss. If I hold out the note, it wavers a partial above and below and it’s been extremely hard to keep a solid sound last night.
