Eric, I just purchased "The Clarke Variations" and played through some of the studies this morning. Great stuff! I thought that the "Studies VII & VIII" section was particularly useful.
I'm a big fan of variations on Clarke's studies, particularly after you are already very familiar with the original studies. The variations force you to pay attention to the notes as you practice them. You get all of the benefits of the original studies, but extend your learning. |

EB,
Agree with Dayton the variations are great and fun to play and they do force you to pay attention as you are so familiar with the original. I am doing them as directed and am on the first one slurring x 6 with one breath after 3-4 weeks
As usual EB, well organised and detailed, great job!!
Cheers
