Hi guys,
I am playing the musical Annie this summer. I played Annie 35 years ago.
Honestly, I can't remember much about it. I would just like to know if there is flugelhorn in the show or any unique mutes. Also, I would like to know if the score has been revised and has flugelhorn or anything special in it.
Thanks,

From my show notes. I'm also playing it later this month.
It can be a fun show...and it can be a real drag (WAY too much sun coming up, ya dig?). Stylistically there is some nice stuff to play that you don't see all that often.
The 2012 Broadway revival was expanded to 3 trumpets, all with flugel and 1st also had piccolo trumpet. That version has not yet been licensed for rental.
=====
2 trumpets, both on Bb only. Both parts in one book.
Opens with 1st trumpet solo
Cup, straight, Harmon w/stem, Solo tone (1st only), marked as “Wood Mute”
Mute management is easy
Lots of Cs, several C#s (#13)
#11 has a few places where 2nd plays & 1st rests. Easy to do both parts if only one trumpet.
#21, ms 17, 2nd plays & 1st answers. Easy to do both parts if only one trumpet.
#21 “Cabinet Tomorrow,” ms 32 beats 1 & 2 - articulation is reversed.
#22 “Cabinet End,” ms 19 last note should be F natural, not F# from the key sig. _________________ Tim Wendt
