So I'm assuming this is probably not a good horn to pursue, huh?

Sorry, no experience with a Navajo C, but I like my Bach 229 a lot!

Uh...apparently it transposes excerpts up a whole tone.

Personally, I don't know of a lot of Irish Native Americans, so the name throws me off a bit.

And for what it's worth, the phone number for O'Malley Instruments is shared with Accent Music Production (a talent agency) in Denver Colorado.

Good luck with that,
Gary.

Pretty sure these guys import private labeled chinese horns and resell them.
Obviously loads of people do this exact same thing (Trent, Dillon, etc....) so that by itself is not a problem.

Depends on the reputation of the dealer and the individual quality of the horn. Sometimes these dealers depend on the buyer not knowing that the horns are really $200 Chinese imports that they are marking up heavily. Some will claim that the horns are "built to their specifications", or built in "our overseas manufacturing facility"... uh huh... sure it's YOUR trumpet factory in China.

ran into this exact thing with a company specializing in selling instruments to the Latino market (salsa, mariachi, etc...).

Buyer Beware.

I would not go near that instrument if they payed me...I'm going to assume the player in the video is somewhat of a hack to begin with, but the sound that came out of the horn was rather unpleasant. You have multiple factors working against it: It's an unknown brand, the primary selling point is that it's cheaper than a bach, it sounds bad, and they felt the need to put out a video to demonstrate how great the instrument is. If you really need an inexpensive C trumpet you can find a quality instrument for not much more money.

I found that this guy has an eBay store where he sells his horns. What's more interesting is some of the items found in said store that aren't trumpets. Note the first item that comes up.

I thought the whole excerpt was pitchy and the tone was bad. But both could have been the player.

This is very true, and I'm sure a very skilled player would make this horn sound good. I just don't think there would be any benefit to owning this instrument long term.

I was thinking that they should have someone play it who sounded a little better so it would make a better impression.

This is one of those posts that originates with a "Facebook drive by" followed by a little Google digging, then ultimately coming to TH search as the Source to be Trusted. Have to expect the answer to the OP question has already been resolved in the past year, but just in case someone else chooses to do a similar search:

O'Malley Musical Instruments Douglas GA

Douglas is in deep southeast Ga, an area with which I am quite familiar, but I have not visited this store specifically.

I Purchased a Navajo C Trumpet and it plays great. Check out the sound on youtube. The Spirit is the prettist trumpet I have ever seen I own a Reynolds Contempora Sterling and a Conn Constellation 60B and the Spirit is pretter than both.
