One of my favourite ways to do a short warm-up is by using a visualiser, somewhat like Brad shows in the video below. With this approach I am ready in 3 mins.

Like the idea of middle to high register as ‘homebase’.
Visualiser enhances buzzing!

I don't believe in a 'warm up' per se.. but I believe in practicing certain exercises to develop greater physical efficiency and relaxation in one's playing. It makes sense to me to start my practice day with these exercises to establish the new muscle memory and to get it to take over. Currently, I like to do rim buzzing the way Lynn Nicholson prescribes, followed by certain Schlossberg exercises practiced in a way that echoes your groovy sentiments in that video Jim..very nice! I agree that that is an extremely effective 'headspace' (referring to your whole vibe/energy on the video) to be in when we are talking about approaching the trumpet/music. Makes things so much easier! Best, Lex

My warm up entails lead pipe buzzing. Typically for about 5 minutes and then I go into long tones

I find having the lead pipe warmup helps me to keep the sound forward and the air moving.
