For those of us who can't afford 12 Committees and 27 Mt. Vernons, does anyone collect anything trumpet related beyond instruments and mouthpuieces? I, myself, have a modest collection of valve oil. It'll never be worth anything monetarily but i enjoy hunting for old, and new, brands/bottles/formulas. Plus you can always recommend which ones work and which don't!! _________________ Bach Stradivarius 37, Bach Stradivarius 43, Bach Stradivarius NY7, Bach Stradivarius 239, Bach Stradivarius Long Model Cornet 37, Bach 5C, Bach 3C Megatone |

Have you considered product advertisements, catalogs and sales literature? That stuff is pretty cool. |

I also collect mutes, especially vintage mutes. I have several of the Shastock SoloTone and Tonalcolor cups, a couple Robinsons, some Chicago H&B and a few others. I have a rather obscure open tube design that contours to the bell, is made of a combination of spun steel and stainless steel, and has what looks like a tub drain screen in the front. It sounds like a less resonant form of a mel-o-wah mixed with a straight mute. I don't know what brand it is. It has "P.E.S. PAT. APPLIED" marked on the front.
Anyone want to hazard a guess? _________________ -Tom Hall-
