Hello,

I'm curious if anyone has experience with a #6 Bach leadpipe. The loyalist page says it's the tightest one they make.

If the #6 has a large bore (.462), I'm curious as to how the blow might be.

I was a little surprised initially how tight the blow was on a large bore Bach 25 trumpet (I understand it's because of the bell).

I’ve played a large bore NY Bach with a #6 pipe. It didn’t feel “too” tight. But it was a very light horn so that may have had something to do with how easily it played.

I’ve also played a special edition Bach with the #6 pipe from around 2000. Don’t remember what it was called. It felt tight and sounded pretty bright.

Those two completely different experiences probably don’t help answer your questions 🤪

I have a Bach 25 bell, 25 pipe, L bore. I just bought a 6 pipe to put on it - I'll post here when I do!

That's my combo on my '29 Bach, 6/6. .462. It's a great balance.

What are the playing characteristics of the #6 bell?

I've heard from a very reliable source that Bud Herseth spent a lot of time on the 6 pipe (instead of the 25H that most assume) on his Ctpt
