Hi folks! I am looking to develop 3-4 trumpet ensembles with my high school students this Fall. The levels vary quite a bit with the highest level of students sitting high in the Texas All-State band and orchestras. I am not as knowledgeable about the trumpet ensemble repertoire as I would like to be and would love help in finding a wide range of styles and levels to introduce to my students. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Jay Lichtmann has some wonderful free ensembles on his site: http://uhaweb.hartford.edu/LICHTMANN/

Triplo Press is also a wonderful resource:
Triplopress.com

Rob Roy McGregor also has some great ensembles at Balquhidder Music.

Good luck, and thanks for exposing your kids to this really special music.

The largest library of brass chamber music I know of is here...
http://www2.humboldt.edu/brass/musiclibrary.html
It might be a starting point for your research.

I'd recommend contacting Dr. Kyle Millsap at TAMUK. Besides having a fine trumpet ensemble, he has written several very fine arrangements...

That's awesome you are doing that! Seems like a cool exploration! There isn't a lot of music written for the ensemble that based in high school range... But some good ones that would challenge the kids would be, Jason Basoco's, Ice Journey and Brain Balmages's, The Storm's Path and Soundings.

You can check out some of my Trumpet ensemble stuff too, but that's probably too large and too difficult for what you are looking for...

MuseScore has quite a few. Most are amateur compositions and arrangements. But most are fee and you can see and listen the pieces online.

The below link works for me and should take you right to the search results for "trumpet quartet". You might need to create a log-in but it's free.

Get in touch with Mr. Wiff Rudd at Baylor University. He sends two trumpet ensembles to the National Trumpet Competition every year and they have won many times. There have been some great arrangements that have come from Baylor students as well, Mr. Rudd will be familiar with those.

Here are some good trumpet ensemble options, each selection here is for at least 3 trumpets, going up from there.
