I recently purchased an Al Cass 3x4 Milford mouthpiece. It does not appear to be damaged at the shank end. However it does not seat completely in any of my horns. Chicago Benge, Olds Recording, Callet, Conn 40b, Marcinkiewicz, old Getzen. It wiggles very slightly, even when I put pressure on lt.
Any ideas why?
Thanks,
Sam |

If it bottoms out on the end of the leadpipe, the shank is worn or made for a different taper. If it doesn't bottom out but wobbles, the shank is out of round at some point (whether the end looks like it or not). You could send it to Frost Custom Brass or a similar shop to fix it if it bothers you. |

Thanks 229, I think I’ll send it to Bob Reeves. Maybe have it cut for sleeves. |
