|
|
Good evening;
For those that have tried them, what is a good alternative to the Shires Q-C trumpet, specifically? I’ve been waiting a year to try one, and have had cash in hand since Christmas, but I can’t seem to get my hands on one. I like the 401b model, along with the Bach 229, and the Yamaha Chicago, but the Q-C price made me really want to try it.
So, if you tried it at ITG (or someplace else), what did you think, and what would you compair it to?
Thanks,

A while back, Rich Ita in Atlanta had one. You might want to give him a call.

I have two or three of them at the store including a B-stock one (had a bell dent rolled out) that plays exceptionally well. Shoot me an email josh@milanomusic.com _________________ www.milanomusic.com |

Thanks for your interest in our Q series --- I'm happy to answer any questions you have with them. We have two C trumpet models -- the Q11 and Q13. The 11 bell is our 4 bell, similar to a Bach 229, and the 13 is our 5 bell, similar to a Bach 239.
I play, QC, and advise on adjustments on every single trumpet that leaves our shop, including every Q series horn. The Q C's are all very nimble, responsive, and in-tune instruments. They are priced below any Strad you'll find, and their popularity is EXPLODING -- a testament to how they play. We hear from many of our dealers that people who playtest Q Bb's and C's against other popular brands strongly prefer the Shires -- in quality, playability... and price!
Let me know if I can be more specific on anything or if you're having trouble locating one I may be able to point you to a dealer close to "North of the Sweet Tea Line." _________________ www.seshires.com |

Good Evening;
Thanks for all the input and the suggestions. I just heard from the person I study with (Eastman and Shires Performing Artist) that a Q-C is on the way for me to try out, so I'll be eagerly awaiting its arrival. I'm kind of hoping its the Q11, but I'll put it through its paces regardless.
I'll post more once I have it in my hands. It's been quite a hassle getting to try one, but I'm still excited.
Thanks,

Good Afternoon;
So I've had a Shires Q-C13 for about 2 weeks to try out, and it's amazing! I really want to try the Q-C11 before I make my final decision, but I'm currently very happy with the 13. We'll see how things shake out.
