Today I have begun to practice the first exercises of the Arban book (page 11-20). I have read that these exercises are a great way to get a good endurance. I already notice my hot commissures, as if it were a gym class. Have you experienced this? It seems simple ... but it is always said: Less is more. _________________ Yamaha 8335LA Gen2

hello
everything is good for endurance, resistance, whatever... depending on how you practice.
your " hot commissures" on gym class mean that you don't rest enough.
it's ok sometimes to work like that, mostly if you're a strong mature player.
when you're developping, better to axe fist on quality and coordination

Your endurance will improve rapidly if you play four bars then rest four. Gradually increase your playing time but continue to rest an equal number of bars.
Many players make the mistake of trying to playing a half hour or even an before taking a break. This is not resting as much as you play. _________________ Jim Hatfield

I have been working on my endurance using Bai Lin Lip Flexibilities since early July. I play an exercise then sing the exercise and move to the next position and repeat. This has been the "Express Train" to building endurance rapidly among other things, like ear training. I use a metronome to keep my time consistent as well.
I believe this approach would work well with many endurance building exercises.
Best wishes,

That’s even better than simply resting! _________________ Jim Hatfield

Exercises 11-50.
Play, rest, play rest.
Not just "play through" but play making it sound as good as you possibly can.
4 measures at a time.
Transpose to all keys. Exercises in F, play in F#. Exercises in C, play in Cb, C#. |

I also tend to sing or run through the fingering while resting- works well for me.
