For all that were lucky enough to know Richard (Dick) Wright and even luckier to have played his charts or heard him on trumpet, I'm sad to report that he passed away after a five year struggle with cancer. He taught at Berklee in the early sixties and played many years in Las Vegas after leaving Boston. He had the most fantastic ears of anyone I ever met and could lift the most complex arrangements off of recordings with perfection. He was my friend. A celebration of his life will be held September 22nd at noon in the Suncoast Hotel in Las Vegas and you are most welcome to attend.

Seems like we're losing a lot of good folk lately. R.I.P. and condolences to you, Tony, and to his family and friends. _________________ "After silence, that which best expresses the inexpressible, is music" - Aldous Huxley |

I didn't know Dick, but it's sad to see another one go. My condolences to his family and friends including you Tony.
