Does anyone on the forum know which drill bit sizes (fractions of inches) correspond to two digit throat designations? Which bit size equals a 26 and which is a 25?

Thanks.

25 and 26 are drill bit gauge sizes, corresponding to 3.797 mm and 3.734 mm respectively. If you want to convert to other more quaint measurement systems, you're on your own.

The drill set used is called a wire gauge drill set.

In the USA there are 3 main drill bit sets. Fractional, Letter, and Wire gauge.

Really, a wire gauge reamer should be used to ensure that the size is accurate. Drill bits are not terribly accurate, and if you need a hole to be perfectly accurate it is expected that you drill it and then ream to final dimension.
