When James' Thompson's "The Buzzing Book" was released, it was an updated version of two books he'd previously released through the Atlanta Brass Press. There was talk that Editions Bim would also release an updated version of his book for beginners ("Daily Play-Along Brass Builder") to be called "Bandroom Buzzing." As far as I know, it was never released. I've checked with Editions Bim periodically to see what its status was, but haven't received any definitive news. The Daily Play-Along book is now sold by Rob Sayer (with whom Thompson collaborated) under the title "Sound Habits."
Does anyone know if/when Thompson will release his book for beginners, or will "Sound Habits" be it? I wrote to Thompson once about it, but did not receive a reply. |

More than 20 yrs ago, I got a copy of Daily Play along book from Jim. An Atlanta area school music teacher collaborated in its creation. Wish I could remember his name. It had really cool synthesizer accompaniments.
Why don't you ask Jim? He's on facebook. |
