Bought what I believe is a Bach 310 Shepherd's crook cornet. Many, many spots on the lacquer.

Plays very well. Like the feel of it and it works well with a Denis Wick 2 C mouthpiece.

Mouthpiece receiver has CR 300 on it. Thought Bach CR 300 was a long cornet and CR 310 was a Shepherd's crook cornet.

Yes this cornet design has been made for over 40+ years in its previous incarnation as a Buescher Aristocrat, then re made as a Back 310. I have had both cornets next to each other and you can tell they are the same apart from branding and slight cosmetic changes.

Here's a few threads on the 310 and the Buesher

(The pictures of both dont show in the thread anymore but just remove the 's' out of the link (http) and you can see the pics)

Thanks for the information. Did further research on this cornet, it is definitely a Bach CR 310 cornet. Why it has CR 300 on the mouthpiece receiver is a mystery to me. My best guess is the mouthpiece receiver and lead pipe were replaced. That no CR 310 mouthpiece receiver was available, so replaced with a CR 300 receiver.
