I heard a clip of Caleb Hudson playing this flugel and thought it was the most gorgeous solo flugel sound ever...[start at 02:49]...

Toni (Anton) Possegger
(Whom, I believe, made trumpets for the NY Trumpet Company a few years back in his shop in Austria?)

After inquiring through the Possegger website, this is what Toni sent me, for anyone in the market for a 4-valve flugelhorn with Pitchfinder:
-----------------
Here are the prices for the Flupy Flugelhorn
4 valve with pitch finder
Gold finish 4.600.-€
Silver finish 4.300, -€
Painted 4.200, -€
All prices without tax (but do not apply when shipping to the US)
shipping to US 100,-€
wait about 3-4 months

Everything is in gold brass
We also build one with 3 valves MAW
Flupy sound is darker and more powerful

I've been building Flügelhorns with 4 valves since 20 years
In different designs
------------
Today's monetary conversion...
4600 € = ~$5300 (Gold)
4300 € = ~$4950 (Silver)
4200 € = ~$4830 (Lacquer)

Thanks for posting this....what a sound. Obviously this is due to Calebs playing but there is definitely a different sound profile at work here with this instrument that is really something.

Truly an amazing tone.... Has anyone played the Possegger Flupy? I'd love to read your impressions of it!

Not the flupy, but I've owned 2 of his trumpets (1 nytc custom, and my current horn which is modular, based around a bronze meinlschmidt valve block). They're incredible. Build quality is excellent, modular design is very smart.
Very big, broad and dense sound, slotting and pitch are very defined and easy. Its not a super light horn, but still nicely responsive and flexible. Can't say enough good things about his designs.
Flupy and rotary piccolo are next after a bit of saving... Though that said they're impressive bang for your buck.

Been looking at the horns for some now. Note that the Flupy in the video is the flugel Flupy. There are also piston and rotary trumpet Flupys (trupys?) on the Possegger website. Wonder how they sound.
