I try to do it at the beginning of each practice session. Gets the air working with the lips in an easy way to start basic tone production. If I can get a good buzz on the mouthpiece, I know I can get a good sound on the trumpet.
Also does wonders for ear training and accuracy if you can buzz pitches in tune. |
