I have been playing piccolo seriously for about 3 weeks now and am still not comfortable with anything above a written "F" on the top line of the staff.
The Brandenburg 2 solo has a written "G" on top of the staff?
Tips or pro tricks out there?

Definitely don't expect to play Brandenburg with only 4 weeks experience... |

The bore is very small and the tessatura is extreme, and as a result you can’t honk on it like you can a Bb or C trumpet. This is NOT the instrument the Brandenburg was composed for, adding another level of difficulty.
Check out Jack Burt’s video on piccolo trumpet techniques for a primer.
