Hello folks,

Do you know if finger buttons and caps of the Strad 37 fit with the B&S Challenger 1 3137?

Thanks a lot,
Patrizio

Just a guess, but I briefly owned an F. Schmidt, which I THINK was made by B&S for a local music store chain. It was basically a Strad clone, I seem to remember that those caps and buttons were not interchangeable with Bach. I know for sure the third slide stop rod nuts from a Strad would not fit.

Unfortunately, I have not found any Bach farkle accessories that are compatible with my B&S Challenger 1. After a few attempts, including finger buttons/caps, I stopped trying/looking. (This would have been in the early to mid-2000s.) Sorry.

Thanks trumpetp1, I will ask local shops in Italy to see if they can order the finger buttons and caps directly to the B&S Factory.

You might try Thomann's webshop, they have B&S replacement parts that may be right for you.

Pickett made some buttons for a Sovereign cornet I owned. I sent them one from the horn to use as a model. I am pretty sure they were metric.

Just as an aside, F. Schmidt brand trumpets and mouthpieces are carried by Brook Mays and H&H Music in Dallas and Houston, Texas respectively. I'm not sure any other retailers carry its products.

I didn't know that they were produced by B&S, to me the quality certainly didn't reflect that. They're sold as an "economical" alternative to Bach and Yamaha. Though, they should be copies of Bach equipment for the most part. I have an F. Schmidt 1.5C mouthpiece that I'm told is a good copy by someone who tested it but I wouldn't know as I don't use any 1.5-sized mouthpieces. I wouldn't mind trying their 5C if I ever came across one.
