Mark your calendar - the 13th Annual Chicago-Area Trumpet Hang will be 1-5 PM Sunday, April 7th.

The venue is 243 Forest Avenue in Glen Ellyn, IL.

The usual rules apply. You bring horns, mouthpieces. I supply space and beverages.

No loaded weapons or playing above Double High C.

Others are interested if you post the equipment you plan to bring.

I’ll have my Eclipse, Scodwell, and Bach 72R trumpets, Scodwell flugel, Eclipse, Conn and Blessing Artist cornets.

See you in April!

WOO!

I'll bring whatever I have left, assuming it's a decent day.

Hang On!

Yes, the Hang is on but it's been moved to 1 to 5 PM Sunday, April 14th! Same location: 243 Forest Avenue, Glen Ellyn, IL

Format also still the same: you bring horns, mouthpieces, I provide beverages and excuses to the neighbors.

See you then!

Visited a good friend from south of Chicago and went into it several times. Also have been to the Midwest several times. Loved the city and the Lyric Opera is to die for. Great Pizza, also. Have fun.

Things you don't want to hear at a trumpet hang:

"Don't worry, I'm not contagious."

"This is weird. I can't get my mouthpiece out of your horn."

"Jim, there's a police officer at the door."

"I dropped it but the dent isn't too bad."

"I had a Committee but I got mine at a garage sale."

"Okay if my Burmese Mountain Dog stays on your porch?"

"There's somebody at the back door with an accordion."

"Anyone own the black Toyota RAV I just creased?"

This thread hasn't seen any action in a while. Hope you're all going!

Glad I read the whole thing... I didn’t see the move to the 14th.

My son was to have a surgery on April 1st (not a joke) but it was pushed back to April 24th.

I would love to come if you'll have me.

I missed it also. I would have shown up and Jim's for no reason other than beer.

Looking forward to the Getzen presence.

Somehow I missed this thread until today. I'll be there. Looking forward to drinking beer, playing with everyone else's trumpets and measuring the thoracic pressure capabilities of anyone willing to volunteer along with their range capabilities (highest *full power note and highest overall note). This is going to possibly become part of a larger research study one of my students who is a Biomedical Engineering Professor and I are planning to put together involving measuring a multitude of parameters involved in brass playing.

Further explanation:

I Sacrificed My Sphygmomanometer in The Name of Science

Oh, and I'd also like to measure blood pressures of any willing participants both while at rest and while playing in the various registers.

Cheers,

John

* I'm defining highest full-power note to be the highest note a player can achieve that measures at least 105 dB on my iPhone dB App at a range of one meter.

I also missed the thread until Tom mentioned it to me the other day. I hope to make it, but I'm still trying to reschedule a previous commitment.

If I can make it (and I hope to) my Gansch Horns will be with me and likely my Adams Flugel and A4 as usual.

I'll see if I can find a few others to tag along with me, too.

Cheers,

(Edit: I'll definitely be there, and put the word out to some other folks, also.)
