Anyone else out there play on a GEWA cup? I've bought two, a 3FL for my flugel and a 1.5C to mellow out my trumpet-y Strad 184 ML cornet. Fantastic mouthpieces, and cheap too. Feels like an old Bach to me. Anyone else played one? _________________ -Bach 180-37LR, B&S Challenger 3137/2, Getzen Eterna, Conn Constellation

Played a 7c trumpet mpc and found it alright.
Nothing spectactular, but a very decent mouthpiece at a really unbeatable price. |

I own a GEWA CUP 1.5C for trumpet . I tried it side by side with an original Bach 1.5C, and could hardly find any real difference in sound and feel. _________________ Yamaha, Bach, B&S, Kuehnl & Hoyer |

I recently purchased a GEWA CUP mouthpiece, so I thought I’d chime in on this 8 years later.
I play a Bach 1-1/4C mouthpiece for trumpet and wanted something similar for my Yamaha 2330II cornet. I bought a GEWA 1-1/4C for experimentation because of the price but I was amazed when tried it side by side a Bach 1-1/4C. The GEWA really sings and blows easily with my cornet, whereas the Bach made my cornet sound and feel more like a stuffy trumpet. I’ve always preferred Bach mouthpieces for trumpet, but I think this $20 “copy” is a goldmine when paired with my Yamaha cornet.
The GEWA rim feels somewhere in between a Bach and a Curry to me, slightly rounder and less sharp than a present-day Bach but not as much so as a Curry. The cup appears to be slightly deeper, although not as deep as a Bach B. _________________ B-flat: Bach 37

These are made by Lausmann. Based on older Bach models I believe. Good mouthpieces. Plating not so good, but for the price its not an issue. _________________ Bb - Scherzer 8218W, Schilke S22, Bach 43, Selmer 19A Balanced
