Hi All,
I recently took a flier on a Venezuelan made wooden Harmon mute by Alejandros. For
$90 I ordered the nice looking mahogany model and it arrived in about two weeks time. I just got out of hospital so my chops were a little soft. I can tell you that the mute is well made and beautifully finished. It sounds very Harmon like and is not so heavy as a bubble type mute. The astonishing surprise was the intonation. A C major arpeggio was well in tune through two octaves. Below the staff where a Harmon washes out the Alejandros locked into a solid in tune low G with no change in timbre or volume.
In short the mute sounds great, plays in tune and has it's own unique look. The communication with the company was great and they were eager to assure satisfaction with their product. |
