I haven't posted here in a while, but I had to brag on my wife's find on a local auction. It's a 1931 Conn 58b "peashooter", and it's a complete kit, with mute, lyre, cleaning rod, even a micro screwdriver that I can't find a use for. Came with a mouthpiece labeled AL-TRU. Case and horn both smell pretty badly, it'll need a good chem clean and a polish. It's got a handful of very small pings in its gold-wash bell, probably from the mute. A small amount of silver loss where the bell comes into the first valve. The third valve slide is a little out of alignment, and the 2nd valve is stuck. The valves rattle a little from the buttons, but they're super fast and smooth. I won't say what she paid for it, but she really stole it! Pics to follow.

Oh, edited to add, guess what horn Louis has in my profile picture?

FYI: AL-TRU was a York model name, so the mouthpiece is a York.
